Title: [+++] Disable falling off bikes right after recovering
Post by: airr on 22 01, 2023, 09:06:20 pm: Often when you recover a bike you fall off. And with the addition of an update that is supposed to prevent abusing, you can only recover a vehicle once every 3 seconds. It may not seem like much but it gets annoying quickly when you do it many times in a short period of time. This is especially true in a fast paced environment like LV where it ruins the flow of things.
The solution seems pretty simple: disable falling off the bike when you recover.
To avoid confusion, I'm NOT saying to disable falling off bikes entirely, just the moment you recover it.

How can you vote negative based on a guess? Do you realise what your vote can do? If everyone took a guess like you on things they know nothing about, this suggestion would be locked and we would never hear from the people in charge who know for a fact if this is possible or not.

Seems like you are interpreting Danzys reply the wrong way because I've spoken with him before posting this and he told me this could be done.

Either way, I see people all the time taking guesses and saying things like "it's not worth Arrans time". Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I want to hear it from him, not yet again another guess from you.

As far as my understanding of scripting goes:

setPedCanBeKnockedOffBike (https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/SetPedCanBeKnockedOffBike) is a clientside scripting function that exists, and is already used in stuff like CITevents (/emset command) to disable falling off motorbikes. This has to be called server-to-client when a vehicle (Bike) is recovered to be enabled and called again 2 seconds later to be disabled in order for this suggestion to work.

You fall off bikes because the game teleports a bike from potentially thousands of units away from your actual location, to you, the game interprets that as you crashing into an obstacle at really high speed which makes you fall off. This is the solution I came up with which is why I told airr to suggest it, if it can be done, great, if not, oh well.

So no this should not be locked and filed as a bug report, because it was probably made as a bug report many times in the past and deemed unfixable.

Since this suggestion was brought up, I was wondering if the hydra exploding after recovering it can be fixed? I make sure of clicking it a few times before recovering it, so the HP is not set to negative, but even if it is 0% hp it can explode when you can recover it. I'm sure LV players have faced this problem aswell.
