Title: [+++] Removing the 'maybe' option from /qvote
Post by: Cerberus on 15 11, 2022, 05:26:42 pm
No need to dive into a lengthy explanation for this suggestion, as it's quite self-explanatory.

Simply, I'm suggesting to remove the 'maybe' option from the /qvote feature. Why? Well, to be completely honest, it's useless, right? There's no benefit of having 'maybe' as a voting option, although there is a downside to it, which is that players can use it just to troll around. A simple vote with a Yes/No outcome would be ideal. A 'maybe' option doesn't really make sense because if one is unsure, then they simply do not need to cast their vote.

a maybe for me basically does not contribute anything, so yes, it is a useless feature of /qvote, because what is sought in voting is for people to decide between yes or no, and I suppose that a maybe will not lead to nothing, it's like 50% yes and 50% no, so I guess this should be removed, in conclusion, a useless and unfavorable feature in voting that should be removed.  :tick:

I agree, as ''maybe'' would not be an obvious answer. We'd better stick with the '' yes and no '', to have better results.  :tick:

It's an option people rarely choose, therefore it's useless  :tick:

I think this is true because if you are a neutral vote, you should review yourself first before saying no or yes ، positive

Removing the ''Maybe'' option will be beneficial, as the purpose of such a feature is to know whether the community wants a specific thing or not. Some people are using the ''Maybe'' to troll. ''Yes'' and ''No'' are more than enough and efficient. Positive.

Maybe is just honestly a useless option that exists for some reason, removing it could inspire the players to vote on "yes" or "no" more.  :tick:

When there's a poll, the "maybe" votes does NOT benefit those who said either yes or no in any way. It should not be so hard to answer a simple Yes/No question. This should be implemented. :tick:

You're right theres actually no point over "useless option" which is maybe. Itd be better to keep y/n options only.  :tick:

A hundred percent positive, seriously "Maybe" Is useless, Keep it simple Yes or No.
No need to be unsure about your vote, it's not hard to make up your mind and say either yes or no.

Positive.

It is pointless to have that option and some people just use it to troll to manipulate votes.
Positive

Personally? I like the maybe option. While it may not seem useful/practicual at first glance, it actually digs deep into the general sentiment of whatever population you're working with. How so, one may ask?

Many people answering with a "maybe" may indicate but not necessarily, for example:
- A maybe serves as more of a middle ground between two extreme answers. As a questioner, maybe helps a lot in decision making. Shows more actual interest. Say, you want to do something that will take some of your time.. You want to see whether it is worth it or not. 25% answered yes, 25% answered no and the the rest (50%) went with maybe. That's 25% firm support for your project. In case there was not a maybe, you will have many of these less firm supporters/opposers joining the Yes/No sides, making the final results less accurate (Yes, polls are optional.. Unfortunately people have the tendency to participate even when they are not wholly on board).
- People are naturally biased to answer with a Yes than a No when locked to these two options (Acquiescence Bias). A maybe option will help mitigate that bias.
- Perhaps your question was not clear enough (You are more likely to get more "maybes" with open-ended questions than very speecfic ones.. This gives you an insight that you may need to ask again with more specifics on the subject).

Add to that, trolling is an expected outcome for any of these options, be it maybe, yes or no. However, trolling shines best, in my opinion, when some people feel obliged to influence an optional poll when they have no interest in. Say, Sabfas answering yes/no to LV suggestion/event he will never paricipate in. Having trollers seek the "maybe" option in this case is much better than them going after solid firm answers such as yes/no.

While I personally like the maybe option and find it very helpful (Big fan of maybes.. After being a big fan of yours!!).. I agree that the majority of people would rather have a straight Yes/No answer for more practical reasons.. And solutions have to follow the convienence of the majority! Guess I am upvoting!

I believe,  its not only for troll this vote is for person that not surely about their vote
when maybe vote higher than yes/no its means they let criminal boss to host or not  :thumb: :cros:

If they aren't sure, they simply do not need to vote. Voting is not compulsory. 'maybe' votes just ruin the percentage ratio of yes/no votes, which in return will make it harder for the vote creator to come to a decision.

It's a pointless command, only Yes and No questions should be valid for events therefore people can give exact answers.Positive :tick:
