Excellent news today! I have bought a new server for CIT. It costs only £11 more a month (£42 to £53) and it has some seriously major resources available!
- CPU: Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.07 GHz (quad core with hyper threading)
- RAM: 24 GB DDR3
- HDD: 2 TB
- NET: 100 Mbps with 15 TB of bandwidth a month
Due to our great success, we had to upgrade as our current server won't be able to handle the player counts we have planned for the future. Over the next few days we will be working on getting it ready for when we move everything over and begin to use the new server. Thankyou to all of you who have donated to help pay for this! I think its better to have one, but big and good server then have several servers. Its easier for admins and all players to play in only one server. Also more servers=more cash to keep them running.

MTA SA server was successfully moved to the new server with only 5 minutes of down time! We've moved the website too and just a bit more left to move.

512 kb/s as in kilobytes, is good, as in kilobits, no. kb/s is for kilobytes and kbps is kilobits but if your "ping is always terrible" then its probably kbps.

What the... 24GB of RAM?! What would you need such a HUGE amount for? I have half of that, and that is way more then necessary, no matter what I try to do to stress out my pc..

Servers require more RAM than a PC. DNS uses 600 MB and MySQL can use 1 GB add on a bunch of game servers and other stuff, but yeah we'll never use 24 GB, we bought it for the extra bandwidth not the RAM.

Server specs sound nice nonetheless, it should be able to hold out for quite a while!

By new server he means something like this:

So it's physical server, not MTA server. This thing hosts our (CIT) server. Anyway, when MTA 1.1. arrives, we will all go on MTA 1.1. where CIT2 is waiting or us, being developed for quite some time. Maybe there will be new beta testings so you will be able to get a peek at what our future will look like ;)

Thats why I said "one of those servers:" as in one of the rack mounted servers.
That picture is from one of the data centers which our host has.

And also nice features i7, 24GB of ram and 100mbps of internet connection.
