Title: PC Random restart.
Post by: Angjelo on 26 04, 2022, 09:57:38 pm
Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I'm facing a PC random restart while gaming. I'd say it happens after playing for 30 minutes or 1 hour. The PC's screen turns off and the PC restarts itself. I've installed serval anti-viruses, cleaned my PC for many things and it's still going on. I'm thinking to format it in the service when I bought it as they already told me that but before the format, I hope someone will help me here.

My PC's Specs:

Core i7 4790K, GPU: GTX 570 which has 1.2GB dedicated, 16 GB Ram, 550 Watt Power Supply, 3TB HDD. If anything else is required, feel free to ask me here, will reply as soon as I see it.

Would be great if anyone helps me before Tomorrow morning as I'm already going to send it there but wanted something to fix it faster.

- Thanks for reading it all.

not really CIT related but could it be overheating? try downloading HWInfo and check the temps of your CPU/GPU

Your main focus should be on the power supply being faulty or in general overheating causing your pc to restart randomly while gaming (would make more sense because draws more power while pc is in higher task mode) formatting your pc won’t fix anything unless there’s a program that forces your pc to automatically reboot on interval timings? Try that first as it’s the easiest thing to do first if that doesn’t fix anything then most likely power supply or an overheating problem

Or simply check task manager to know if something it's going hitting an high percentage or just the PC overheating. Another tip it's if you haven't clean your PC for a long time dust might be the target.

Overheating, faulty GPU, bad PSUs are generally the culprit of random hardware related system reboots. I would suggest you to check your temps as rellic said above, a bad GPU or CPU will mostly have bad temperature profiles, clean your PC and try using it with any temporary PSU..

Heyo,

It seemed to be a problem with the dust on the coolers, today I cleaned it, and not happening, hopefully, it will not continue.
Good to hear! should I lock this topic or you want it to be kept open for some more days, just in case?
