Title: Adding a timer for butcher
Post by: Mazenolla on 06 08, 2022, 06:33:39 pm
Basically, the butcher interior only has 12 units of meat that you cut and shred in order to progress in the job, then you leave the interior and wait 5 minutes before you can enter again. The problem here is as a Butcher, you gotta wait outside which is quite boring which is why I like to go driving a bit. But I never know how much time is left before I can go back, so my suggestion is to implement a timer at the bottom right of the screen to tell you how many minutes are left before you're able to enter the interior to continue with the job.

As an L10, I definitely think that this should've already been added with the job itself, a timer in bottom right corner or a notification whenever more meat to cut is available is a must have, although I never thought much of it because the job is fairly easy to level up and you can reach Level 10 in about 6hours max.

Definitely a  :tick: nonetheless.

This would be really helpful, we are not required to have timer and set it and wait for butcher until it's reset, so it would be very useful if it is added

Is it really too difficult to do /time once you finish and wait 5 minutes?

Adding yet another countdown timer/updater really isn't necessary.

I believe it gets quite annoying if you keep waiting and you go and check the marker and it turns out that only one minute has passed, especially when you want to keep getting meat on time to grind the job as the pay is quite low.

That is why I said you can use /time.

/time > 14:30 > "Oh okay so it's 14:30 right now so I can go back at 14:35".

To be completely honest Danzy, I thought of it as an unnecessary addition at first, but then I realized it's from my perspective, a person who already knows many commands. A newbie would probably see the 5minutes mark, but most likely forget about it and wander off and realize that the meat reset already a while ago. I am just saying newbie butchers will definitely benefit the most from the addition of a timer.

Even though it's a sipmle job which you can reach max level in a couple of hours I still think the whole waiting outside part is boring and takes out the fun. I can understand that it is for balancing reason but still I think a timer would have been a good addition especially for newer players who don't know how to use commands. So it's Positive from me :tick: !

I see that its so logical to have something calculating the cooldown period for the next session of the butcher job. This timer is necessary, so the players can know how many minutes left, so they can do the job accurately without wasting any minute from their time. It's an obvious positive from me.

Danzy said it all. This is probably the most useless suggestion I’ve ever seen. Don’t be lazy and look at the time.  :cros:

Totally needed in order to know the remained time for the next job's task.  :tick:

Instead of doing /time I was doing something a bit more complicated, I was using the stopwatch command "/sw cd start 300" to countdown 5 minutes and when it ends it makes a sound. It is very useful because while I'm waiting I have my game minimized, and I'm doing something else. Would be awesome if there was something similar with a sound effect that lets you know that there are more meat to be cut. Maybe if you stand right on top of the entrance marker it would show up a timer and then make a sound, useful for experienced players but most importantly for new ones.  :tick:

Waste of time, I believe server developers have much more important stuff for doing.

Do this if you are that bothered:
/time > 14:30 > "Oh okay so it's 14:30 right now so I can go back at 14:35".

- Butcher job will now display a loading bar showing time left before you can re-enter the building. (Danzy + Mazenolla)
