Hello,
I am suggesting we have an option in /settings that lets us disable the auto-GPS when certain things happen. This will also turn off the "Press N to start GPS".
Experienced players do not like GPS and it would be great if we could have an option to disable it as it just clutters our radar.

I do think that the GPS system is actually not useful, but completely disabling it even when it asks you "Press N to start GPS" doesn't make any sense to me. It's already giving you an option to enable/disable it. If you don't want it, just don't press N.

maybe I wanna bind N to a different command

Sounds a good idea to disable the green line shows in the map, while you have accidentally clicked somewhere on the map unintentionally, so adding this command will be pretty fine.

CoolDude has already managed to explain for you why this is not really necessary.

I haven't dealt with it recently, seems like it doesn't even automatically enable it to me anymore. But in case it still does to others, you shouldn't be forced to use GPS, it'd be better if we can disable auto-GPS indeed. You can keep it enabled on default for newbies, but just allow players to disable it too in case they do not want it.

I know the GTA-SA map better than the current place I am living in. So, using GPS isn't needed at all. Adding a setting would be perfect.

Agreed, some people might prefer having bind on this key. Also I checked if we can remove bind but it was no possible. Old/Experienced player do not require GPS it might annoy them as Dream stated his opinion.

5 Positive votes, set to accepted.
(at)Arran I hope this is just simply putting a check on the GPS function within its respective resource.

And what things are automatically GPS'ed?

When you arrest some1 is the main annoying one.
When your clicking around on the map is also annoying.
Several jobs also do it like taxi driver

Nearly every job I can think of has the auto gps thingy

But there is no reason to click on the map other than to place a blip... If you're moving around the map and it comes up, you let go of left click too fast. That is not to "auto-GPS"
Also you can change the key bind from "n" so that's not an excuse for this.
But it's not hard to add so I'm working on it now.
