Title: [Resolved]New Job-Archaeologist

This job will be simple, I am going to explain it:
You will use your player for find old war stuff, like old weapons or mines, you will simply reach a marker with your car and you will start extract the material from the ground, after that, you will have to transport the materials at the blue circle ( http://i.imgur.com/eKy8r.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/eKy8r.jpg) - there should be a factory over there, you'll be able to take the job there).
After that you extracted the material and you brought the materials at the factory, you will receive your money.

The red line shows the interested area for the job


Payments for the job:
We still have to decide but I guess that 500$ should be fine since you always have to through the jungle with your car.

This will open a new way in the map, since people is always in the cities.

Edit: You will be able to extract with the animation /plantbomb, when you get to the marker it will ask you if you want to start extract the material.
Plus, if it will get approved, JR10 will make it without any problem.

L0- Archaeologist 150$ 20 missions
L1- Paleontologist 250$ 40 missions
L2- Geologist 350$ 60 Missions
L3- Adventurer 450$ 80 missions
L4- Treasure Hunter 550$ 90 missions
L5- Indiana Jones 650$ 100 missions

Edit: I decided to put only 5 ranks cause this isn't such an easy job since you always need to pass through "unknow" places, and if you loose your car, you can't transport the materials. ( I think that the pay is enough high )

Is a very good idea, since we need more jobs and cities are full opf eople, while the dessert and the forest are empty.
I think U should:
- Add an image of the place where people would take the job.
-Add a level sistem like most civilian jobs have.
-Change the place to deliver the materials ( I don't really know how to explain Why in english :P)
- If u are going to get old mines and weapons, it should be done in the dessert, sinece is the place where most old guns and mines are found IRL.
- Maybe adding that the things that the Archaeologist find in the forest are old fosiles or something related to natural history.
- If the last point is a good idea, the the things should be delivered to a museum.

Please say your opinion about my ideas.

I agree about the bones and fossils but mines and old guns are fine too, I don't see why not.
About the museum I don't agree cause it would be too far, the others are going to bring the materials in the museums, you just take the materials at the factory.
I am going to work on the Level system, don't worry.

In my opinion new jobs are currently needed since it's getting a bit boring doing the same things daily over and over again. As well I believe that lots of player would be interested in such work.

Ok, thanks for answering, you are right, Going to athe museum would take long time and players won't do it if the think they are loosing time. Good luck with the level system, I can Help if you are too busy.

Thats a good idea, that would also increase RP and make the job more interesting.

When I read this idea I thought "Oh perfect more players will use the desert" and I got a little disappointed when I saw it only involved the woods. I was thinking you could leave the woods as is and make another drop off point in the desert so you could do it there.

Great, it would be great to give more use to the dessert, but it might be dangerous to the players, since they can get wanted in AF area.

very nice job and interesting to do :) but for L5 just 100 Missions?so less :(.I should be like this:
L1-50 Missions.
L2-100 Missions.
L3-200 Missions.
L4-400 Missions.
L5-800 Missions.

Its ok even if it is harder but to become the most and leading worker you have to word harder and harder.So I like to suggest this only ;).Payment is good as now no change in that.

Yeah that would be so cool and I suggest that we could do digging anywhere in the map except in the cities and there would be many factories near so taht it would be faster to sell the items. That's all and nice idea :) +1 for me

I really don't think many people will take up this job because, the payment fixed is kinda low. My idea would be to make it as a function of probability, just like fishing job...If you have more luck you earn more, which is also similar to RL.

Were full of common jobs, and they're not always that fun, but archaeologist seems fun!

Really nice idea but I don't think that old war stuff would fit with the archaelogist job. I suggest to find old stuff like jewelry , old tools or weapons. Anyway nice idea so +1.

as u said its not an easy job so thats the point for increasing the payment to 600-750 maybe.

I know we already have a lot of work on CIT, but this really needs to be implemented. Basically looking over your information, I really liked the proposal of this work, now we just need to test in practice it even work will be practiced by many players.

not bad idea but it's so hard to be scripted and the payment is not good all ppl will go and keep working truckers cause the payment is higher I think it would be great if u make Archaeologist's day where we take extra cash and then it will be famous job like fishing day

Yea they should get payed more,archaeologists get payed like 2000 for finishing one ancient site(in real life).
so the payment should be increased.

I agree with the mesa but dont really care for the burrito. I think the dune should be available to L3's and above and mesa and bobcat to the lower levels.

I've been working on this job, and it's almost done. I just need some help from someone of you with adding some locations by filling this out:

Just want to ask, as it has been said on the 1st post that Developer JR10 will be undertaking this project. And if he has already completed this thing, then no point in gathering the above data. But with due respect, I appreciate your work and interest in this issue.

Ok, good job Sebbe.
I will suggest a few things for you, if you are keen on scripting this job.
Instead of blipping a pinpoint object, I would say, create small radar areas (like turfs) for the job (client side), where the archaeologist needs to reach and find out a certain item. The item's location should be random inside the area. Upon finding it out, he has to bring it back to an office, and then another new radar area would appear, where he needs to search again for another item / clue.

EDIT : maybe some digging animation too, with a spade, to be given with the job.

Yes, I am taking care of it at the moment... and try my level best in it.
Can anyone provide me a animation name (from MTA), which looks like digging the mud with a shovel in hand? It was there in GTA:SA so must be there in MTA too, but if someone helps me find that, I will be thankful.
