Hello community,

Firstly I wanna thank the staffs who added this:

Quote
Friday 16th August 2013
- Added some skin mods to hardly used skins: Jason Statham, Jill Valentine, New Cop (replaces LSPD cop), Red Head Female, Vin Diesel, Claire Afterlife and Ripped Red Top Hooker.

Those skins looks great but I think some people do not want a modded skin of them, means they want the default LSPD cop skin (GTA:SA default one) so why not add in /settings this:

Enable modded LSPD cop skin:        Yes/No

/discuss.

Feedback from a player:

It would be great if we can enable and dissable skins, like we so with cars

Well, I totally agree with you since people half wants the old skin and Half wants the current moded one, I agree having this /settings option, +1'd anyways.

Well, yeah.. some of us don't like the mod-dd skin. Some of the players love the originality of the thing.

In my honest opinion, it's not much of a big dead. It's not a high priority suggestion. But, it will help / benefit a lot of the community players.

Some of the people just play / ruin gta3.img thinking that they will remove it, because it's an Ingame skin. It must be downloaded, so they will regret that.

I'll support this idea, +1.

Wouldn't that create some DeSync? I'm not sure about this, but I think it would actually cause DeSync. Besides, even if it won't cause desync I find this useless, it's obvious that the new skins are better and this isn't a big deal anyways.

Negative for this one.

DeSync? No, because it is kind the same of the car mods..

Why is it useless? Just because you like it? Not all like the new LSPD cop skin..

Sometimes it makes a huge lag ,So I'm supporting you in this.

I would like to give you an example of what I mean, it's more of what Brian calls "Sloppy Shit" in Vehicle Mods:

  • No sloppy shit. I don't wanna see vehicles that should be low on ground appear like they are SUVs. Do bear in mind that mods installed in server ARE NOT modified in thier handling. We DO NOT add any handling.cfg file.

This won't cause any de-sync as it's server sided [Means everyone will be able to see it as you do], and yah some people actually doesn't like the new LSPD skin they were like "NYPD in LSPD", I know it looks cool but some people doesn't like it, adding this command won't hurt, will just make people happier and satisfied.
Some people has slow Pcs, we should respect that, maybe it cause them FPS lag like any other mod ?

I find this useless
everyone has his own taste don't you think ?

Anyway, this suggestion can be the portal for a new idea for making a GUI just like /vehmods but something like /skinmods, it should be client sided though, but we can think of something to work it out.

It's not a big deal.New skins are great and it won't lag as Arran said in a post before.
Quote
The skins don't cause lag, 50 players in 1 area does.

GTA SA is 9 years old, we have to evolve graphically and if your computer can't handle it go play mine sweeper.
So about adding a settings to it I don't agree because it's useless if you think again.Unless you want it to be like this:
-if a skin is replaced with an original model, why don't we add another model of the original skin?Which mean that won't change anything and you still can choose to use it.
But add an option is useless. So maybe my idea is good for it so we no need option.

Car mods do cause desync but not as much as different skin mods do.

Ok and what if we can only disable the LSPD modded cop skin? As a lot people said they don't  like it.
OR:

Would it be a big problem if we can disable/enable the modded LSPD cop skin in /settings?

If we take this idea and just make it just like the vehmods that are already currently in the game, this could make the server even better. Of course the mods will have to be tested just like I'm almost certain the vehmods were. So if we added skin mods, server wide I think that would be awesome.
