Title: Enable server setting to allow timecyc.dat file(weather file)
Post by: GoldNugget on 12 07, 2021, 05:12:33 pm: At this moment, CIT disallows customized GTA:SA files. To be honest, I don't know why and can't argue if it's beneficial, but I've dig some through the internet and found out that it mostly comes handy for the PUBG like servers, where colors and weather can make a big difference if one is able to spot another. I couldn't find any reason of why CIT has to have the AC checks enabled for them, as we don't have that kind of server environment to be depended on day/night cycle or weather.

So, I'm suggesting to allow clients to connect who have the "Use customized GTA:SA files" checked. If there is any concerns on enabling every setting (https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/Anti-cheat_guide#.3Cclient_file_name.3D.22data.2Fcarmods.dat.22_verify.3D.220.22.2F.3E), at least make it so we can use weather mods("data/timecyc.dat").

The previous one is fixed by disabling customized GTA:SA files, and I can think of plenty more! Like having a modified GTA SA that has broken walls or so that can let you go through. I can already see a lot of exploits by enabling such a setting.

The MTA AC setting to disable this is necessary and shouldn't be otherwise.

I don't see any problem with that though. I don't expect many people to vote, since very little to nobody may have a clue on what is the topic about. Therefore I'll be glad if you take the suggestion in a consideration without players' support.

If anybody is curious of what does timecyc.dat do, it's just a file which controls weather, in short, changing it will make a game look much better.

Then that would be fine, I can say. I suggest changing the title to allow a few customized GTA:SA files.

I'll just change to allow the timecyc.dat file, I guess it will be fine.

It changes how weathers look, the clearness, the view, the colors, it just refurbishes the atmosphere. I always played with a timecyc mod, up until I returned back from inactivity in 2020 and found out it was blocked to use. The video reference of timecyc mods:

I never knew it got even disabled. This is a harmless mod to the game that just makes it look more beautiful, so therefore I'm upvoting.

Can you provide actual proof of what you affirmed? It may also contribute to get more votes. And if this is going to help with fps then i'm even more happy.

I don't know about the fps part, but if this actually make fps improvements, then that's will be awsome
this mod won't harm any player it just gives players more chances to control their in-game weather
