Adding more dedicated dimensions to /race
« on: 01 11, 2021, 12:58:28 am »
According to what Vampire told me, the current state of the /race system doesn't allow placing safety barriers in races from the /race dimension.
That is because all of the races take place in a single dimension and if one is to map any object,
it may disrupt the route of other races that come across the same path because that object would still be there.

Making the /race have more dedicated dimensions would help in the mapping process as it would not obstruct the tracks as the dimensions would be different.
And it would even make it possible to map different maps in the same place.

Mapped barriers could properly lead the participants through the correct path as the checkpoint blips on minimap don't perform this task very well.
Barriers would be also useful to prevent people from falling into cliffs.

Having proper indications on where to go and diminishing game-over accidents would benefit the /race system as less people would feel demotivated to keep on racing.
I'm not trying to make races easier. If you're really talented, you'll still perform better than those in need of barriers.

On top of that, barriers and other objects would add an eye-candy factor.

- Each race now has it's own dimension so that objects can be added to races. (Arran + Impostor)

This is part of a major upgrade to race script which will end with players being able to add races.
