Well, I am ThunDer, I am here today to show you some steps to improve your internet connection and the experiment on it, so let's go know some small things before we start on the main subject.
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF SPEED UP/IMPROVE THE INTERNET?
- Actually we can not speed up the internet because the speed of your connection is something constant so you can not change it because if you can then you will make the internet companies lose much money so they won't give you this ablility anyway.
- So what I mean in this topic ? improve the connection to make it stable then it will be faster.
STEP 1: DNS
DNS is a shortcut of "Domain Name System" and this system work to turn the websites in internet into numbers/letters to make the server/browser know/understand it, then it will translate it to sites.
Example: The number of google website on browsers is "172.217.20.164", I mean that if you take this numbers and put it into the browsers then you will see Google page on your screen.
What is the important in DNS system? by using DNS you can open the blocked websites and block the porn websites easily, and you can use it to improve the internet connection by using a DNS of big company.
How to improve the internet through DNS?
1. Open "Network And Sharing Center" by entering to this location "Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center".
2. Open "Change adapter settings"

3. Right click on "Local Area Connection", then press "Properties"

4. Open "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and enable DNS then type one of the following DNS numbers or any DNS for any other company.

STEP 2: DISABLE NON-IMPORTANT SERVICES
There are many services are working and you don't use it, because it's not useful for you, and these services take place in your internet connection.
How to improve the internet through disable non-important services?
1. Press these buttons "CTRL+R" , type "services" then press "ok".

2. Disable non-important services, you can disable the following services:
- Windows Defender: If you have an external antivirus so no need to enable this service. (Windows Defender Network Inspection Service, Windows Defender Service)
- Windows Time: it has the responsbility to change the time by using internet, so make it manual.
- Secondary log-on: This sevice if your pc is using by many persons and accounts, so make it manual.
- Fax: If you have no Fax, so it will be useless for you.
- Print Spooler: If you have no Printer, so it will be useless for you. (You can make it manual too)
- Windows Firewall: this is the fire wall for your windows and it should be enabled so if you have/use external firewall so you can lock this service.
- Remote Registry: you can changing the registy in your wingows by remote users.
- Windows Error Reporting Service: this service reports any problem in your windows to Microsoft.
- Windows Connect Now: this give the ability for laptops to use wireless.
- Smart Card: it belongs to the companies, so it won't help you as a normal user. (Smart Card Device, Smart Card Removal Policy)
- Remote Desktop Configuration: this service gives you the ability to control another computer/windows service. (Remote Desktop Services, Remote Desktop , Services UserMode Port Redirector)
- Offline Files: Service which related to this feature in windows.
- Tablet PC Input Service & Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service: You can disable it because it enable the tablet keyboard and pine.
- Routing and Remote Access Service: this is not for the noraml person.
- Bluetooth Support Service: If you have no computers which work by bluetooth like keyboard or phones...etc,then you can disable it.
- BitLocker Drive Encryption Service: This service to encryption drive, I don't recommend it to you, so if you don't use it, then disable it.
- Encrypting File System: Service to Encryption data on the device.
- Netlogon: You can disable it , it is not for the normal user.
- Certificate Propagation: It belongs to Smart Card, so you can disable it.
- Family safety & Parental Controls: this service uses to control the computer by the parents to protect their children.
- Remote Procedure Call: non-important service.
- Security Accounts Manager: this service it belongs to the local computers.
- SSDP Discovery: Feature with UPnP, so enabling it make a lacuna in the system.
- Task Scheduler: Disable it if you don't use scheduling to use the programs and services.
- TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper: non-important service.
- Windows Update: Disabling it to block the auto updates, but do it Manually.
STEP 3: TURN OFF THE DEDICATED PART OF THE INTERNET FOR UPDATES
There is part of the internet speed and this part save for just when you want to download updates for windows/system, so after done these following steps you will use the full speed of your connection.
How to improve the internet through disabling the dedicated part for updates?
1. Press these buttons "CTRL+R" , type "services" then press "ok".

2. Follow the steps on the photo to open "Limit Reservable Bandwidth".

3. Open "Limit Reservable Bandwidth", you will see that it's "Not Configured", enable it and make the bandwidth limit (%) = 0, then press "ok".

STEP 4: SPEED UP THE INTERNET BY DISABLING THE APPS IN BACKGROUND
There are many apps are working in the background of your system/windows, and not all of them are useful and important so you can disable the unused from them.
How to improve the internet through disabling the unused apps in background?
1. Open "Task Manager" by pressing right click on the task bar and choose "Start Task Manager".

2. Then open the tab which called "Performance", and press on the button which called "Resource Monitor".

3. Then press on "Network" tab, and you will see all process/apps which use internet in background, now you can end any process that you don't need to improve the connection.

STEP 5: CUSTOM YOUR ROUTER DNS
When you buy a new Router, it has a default settings from the service provider to make him follow your browsing and make you use the default DNS and block the porn sites or open some normal sites as he wants , so this affect on your connection speed, so we should use our DNS.
How to change the default DNS of the router?
1. Open your browser and type "192.168.1.1" , then press enter.

2. You will see a page like in the photo, then type the username and password of your router.
NOTE: If you didn't change it so I think it will be by default like that:
Username: admin
Password: admin

3. After opening the router settings , follow these steps "Network > Lan", then you will see a page like in the photo, our working will be only in "DNS Server1 IP Adress" & "DNS Server2 IP Adress", then add any DNS you want, the DNS in the photo is Google DNS.
NOTE: This steps for Te-Data or ZXHN routers, so the steps can be different in the other routers but just try to get the steps in your router, you can see them like "Primary DNS Server" & "Secondary DNS Server".

MORE TIPS TO SPEED UP/IMPROVE YOUR INTERNET
- Make sure that your connection through fiber line not copper
- Make sure you don't exceed the monthly limit.
- Make sure you are updating the system continuously.
- Use a very strong Antivirus to protect you and your connection from the attacking viruses.
- Use the internet from the biggest internet company in your country, because it will be more propagation.
- Use a modern router instead of the old types of routers.
- Don't pass the internet line next to any other device like receiver.
- Check the internet lines/connection periodically.
- Always connect from the LAN not from the Wireless.
- Search for any updates for your router.
- Connect the line with the router directly and don't use "Splitter".
- Always keep the router in Mild heat place
- Disable the internet from any other device when not needed.
- Make sure you are calling from the nearest landline telephone box in the street.
