Title: Adding ingame voting system for large proposed suggestions (up/down-voting only)
Often enough rather large updates are pushed out and then people start complaining because the change wasn't as good, or because there weren't enough people voting on the suggestion. I have an idea in mind that will reduce or even resolve at some point this problem:
My suggestion is to create a window with a grid list that contains the titles of suggestions that are rather huge. What do I mean by huge? updates like these:

- Made Uzi/Tec9/Colt go from dual to single weapon. (Arran + Sp1)
The way it would work:
1. A developer places a suggestion title to the panel. (Keep in mind this only counts for game changing suggestions, not minor suggestions!)
2. Players get notified about this suggestion. Online players receive a message, people that login will receive one as well.
3. You can then open the window (most likely to be used under '/vote'), select the title of the suggestion, and cast your vote.
4. You can only vote by clicking 'Upvote' or 'Downvote'. This is where the key difference is at. This system will not allow replying to suggestions, just voting.
5. After enough time has passed (set by the developer), the votes will be globally shared, as well sent to the developers for possible implementation.
This will make a huge difference in voting because we have at least 10 times the amount of players logging in daily, than the amount that casted their vote on the suggestion. To make sure every player votes on what they think is best, the amount of upvotes and downvotes will not be shown in the panel. Tweaks can be made over time but the most important stuff has been mentioned. Of course, forum would still have to be used, but for bigger changes to be implemented, they would also have to be passed through the people who do not vote on forum but play the game.
I was going to work on this, but then heard this has to be suggested.

Few weeks ago I asked about the old "/feedback" command, and since I was inactive they told me it was replaced with "/dev" chat
Tbh the "/feedback" command is needed in such situations to avoid such in game complaints
So, i'm down with the in-game voting system rather it be the old feedback system or a new one

Its different than the feedback command because that is used AFTER the update was implemented. This new idea is to get a voting table on a suggestion from way more people.
Think of it as a poll that lasts for a week (could be few days, up to dev), after that week, results are shown and then we have a clear idea of what really is wanted and what not. There are a lot of people logging in daily and if it only takes a second to vote, it will not be ignored.

Great idea, involving the non-forum users and letting them vote on suggestions through an in-game panel would be good. Not everybody uses the forum, let alone vote on suggestions.

They can vote in-game as well, yes.

Probably this would fix the problem that you stated, which is the huge number of players that don't vote on suggestions because they aren't interested in the forum, but this would create another problem, which is the ease of downvoting suggestions and ruining them. Not to mention, some players will ask their friends, groupmates, or squadmates to downvote some suggestions just because they don't like those suggestions. I'm sure such a suggestion (making uzi/tec/colt single mode) wouldn't have been implemented if such a panel was created. However, these weapons are so OP that they had to be nerfed.
It would be better if we encouraged players to be active on the forum instead of allowing them to vote in the game.

Yes, it is a wonderful concept, however the single weapon update was somewhat disliked by the majority of the community. This may help. :thumb:

I believe this is a good and very necessary concept and suggestion because currently if 30 players on the forum upvote a suggestion it will be added ingame, meanwhile there are 500-600+ daily players that join the server which hasn't taken part in that suggestion and therefore as per topic creator says all major suggestions should first be voted on by the majority of players. :tick:

Yes, would definitely be a great addition to the game because nowadays one smart dude who knows how to write a topic on forums can ruin the game for 50 others that don't even know how to create an account here..
It would be even better if you start counting the ingame votes only because I see inactive players suggesting/giving opinions about things that don't even concern them to be honest, play the game in order to be able to vote

This would be better why? Because there are some updates, we players sometimes complain about them. For example, an update is added, but not all players like it. This is my vote idea. :tick:

To be honest I've had a similar idea in mind which is being able to make a 2nd stage vote after such suggestions additions, in this way people can actually vote knowing either the revert the changes nor keep the new one after fully experiencing it, however, I don't think anyone especially developers would be wasting their time scripting something that later on could be voted to be removed/reverted, therefore, I'm voting positively since it serves the same purpose and ensuring that everyone gets a chance to vote.

So another suggestion board with mostly biased people who does not even care Reading the suggestion and just blindly vote positive or negative on the basis of which side the suggestion is supporting it :cros: even if we implemented it in game what changes it will make? And how does it work? Like if a suggestion gets bad feedback will it be reverted,?

not to be rude but thats exactly what happened on the dual-weapons update no? I've seen more people complain about it in-game than those who upvoted the suggestion on forums, some people lost interest into using the forum and contributing in anyway on forums, however, they still suffer from any changes that effects them.
not the mention that it was stated that:

So it is not just about CnR at this point, its about major updates that effects almost all people.

Yes but not all suggestions are related to tec / Uzi some are related to CNR too, let's suppose one side disapproves the suggestion what will it brings? Will the suggestion get reverted? What's the actual point of this thing.

Thing is, if you think about it, this scenario is actually what's happening in this board.. people usually tend to ask their group mates, friends and people from the same side to upvote specific suggestion which they benefit from. In-fact Nuko's suggestion makes it better because even if there are biased people from specific side, there are always another people from other sides who can participate in the voting system and vote fairly. This suggestion actually brings nothing more but ensuring that everyone votes. people being biased exists in this board and won't be a new thing.

Yes that's true too, but still I don't think it will make any changes, whatever the result of voting is, so I personally don't find it really helpful. Maybe I will change my vote later if I will be convinced enough but right now I don't see any point of this update.

Tbh I agree with this. Many players don't check forums regularly enough.
The update you mentioned about the Uzi has to be one of the worst updates they've ever made. I'm pretty active here and I didn't even see the suggestion so no doubt it flew under the radar of most players.
I'm fact I don't even know of a single person that likes this update. I'm 100% sure if more people knew about it then it wouldn't have had community support.

this idea is really good,alot of players dont use forum or not intersted in using it so they cant say there ideas or they cant vote in suggestions, your idea will fix the probloms you stated players will be able to vote from ingame and it will make things work better :tick: :tick:

I find it a bit absurd that a system that could improve the voting system so much has to be suggested. But anyway, I strongly support this suggestion. :tick:

As it happens and the majority of players are not active on the forum and important updates must have the approval of the community. And this proposal will be more helpful to the agreement and consensus of the community.

Definitely yes, most of the people in the game can't vote on the forum. That's why there are so many people who are unhappy when the suggestion comes to the game. Positive :tick:
