Congratulations to CAMORRA for spamming a topic so much it actually made the ingame server lag. Arran has opened a new board where large/spammy topics are sent for eventual deletion. This includes certain application centers and chat topics. Since all topics there are locked:

More like SMF related.

For some reason the requests relating to that topic were taking extremely long to complete, so much so that it was somehow using the entire CPU as if it was actually an attack.

The topic was called "spammora" and it was over 1500 pages long, clearly SMF doesn't like topics that have 40,000 replies in.

What about just removing these topics which really hurt server? I mean, 20 topics cannot be in trouble just because of 1 spammed topic

It might become like this topic "1 spammed topic", And doing the same.

Well I have got a simple question.

Will you keep deleting every topic which will exceed 100 pages even in the past?  Because if yes, since application center is the most important topic for a group we have to start backing up every post from there to prevent losing important details and info.

Just lock the topic when it gets to 50 pages, then make a new topic

All topics which have 100+ pages will be deleted even it's any topic.

That explains why the server was lagging for the last few days. Anyways, I hope moving the topics might help.
