If you mean profile avatar picture, it's square. Anything that can be 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024 vice versa would fit.

The resolution doesn't really matter on forum profile pictures because the forum will automatically adjust your image to fit the profile "box" photo but Images in your signature must be no greater than 400x80 pixels

I'm Desgining a photo profile that's why I don't know the needed pixels.
