Following Arran's post about how you can be more happy than someone who has won the lottery, I thought I'd make a thread where people can share the things they are grateful for.
I'll kick us off with an example from my own life that happened just yesterday. I was busy hiking in the typical wet and muddy British countryside. The ground was so soggy and my boots were so covered in mud, I had been dreading going to the pub afterwards as I'd likely bring all that mud into their place of business and cause a huge mess.
For reference, the terrain for the last mile had been at least as muddy, if not more muddy, than what you can see here

The point is you don't have to be grateful for a big major thing in your life, just a small thing which brought you some happiness and satisfaction. Something that made your day a little better. It is much harder to live a sad life if you can appreciate even the small, seemingly insigificant things in your life.
