Hey guys, I just got confused!
I'm buying a new phone so, my friends confused me up, some of mine are recommending me hTC one m8 and some of them are recommending Huawei P8 Lite, Which one should I buy? totally confused.
Both devices are quite good for their current price. HTC One M8 is an older device, but with the SD801 in it it should be still smooth enough for regular/heavy use. The front facing speakers are quite comfortable when you watch youtube or any movies on the phone. Not to mention that HTC was known as the manufacturer with the best stereo speakers back then(not sure about now).
Sadly Qualcomm refused to push Vulkano API drivers for SD800/801 so its last official update will be marshmallow(6.0).
Huawei P8 lite is really a great smartphone when it comes to a perfomance/price balance. As it is newer device it could possibly get android Nougat(7.0).The EMUI nowadays is quite similar to IOS, so as you are ex.IOS user you may like it a bit more dunno.
I don't think that its SoC will struggle a lot in a heavy use.
Overall:
HTC has 1080p which is really important thing if you watch movies/videos on the smartphone.
HTC has bigger battery capacity, but considering the higher resolution and the power hungrier SoC,the battery life could be as same as P8 Lite.
HTC has better speakers quality.
P8 Lite could get longer software suppot.
EMUI vs Sense is something you should decide as this really comes to personal preferences.
The cameras on the both phones are decent enough, on daily light.
Question are there any other alternatives we could possible think of?

Thanks in advance
Go to Settings->Usage data check for Media, and see if there is something called Restrict background data <= uncheck it if it is checked.
If there isn't such option look into the settings of the Download Manager for any kind of such option.
