Mods are a great way to improve your GTA and CIT experience, but they can also be deadly to your game, at least if you do not know what you are doing! Read this carefully to save you time, and possibly money.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO MODDING:

Use SAMI (http://www.thegtaplace.com/downloads/f1001-san-andreas-mod-installer-11) to install Vehicle Mods, Use GGMM (http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=434) Weapon Mods, and for Skin Mods Use IMG tool. Recommend: Spark (http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=1503)
If you are advanced, you can just use Spark (http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=1503) to install mods.. Be careful though.

Before you even think about modding, make sure to do these things:
  • Make a folder in your GTA San Andreas named "Backup"
  • Copy gta3.img to  "Backup".
  • Copy the "Audio" Folder to "Backup".

Before you even think about modding, make sure to remember these things:
  • Bike, Boat, And Plane mods have a less chance of crashing you than any other.
  • If you install ANY car mods that replace a car that has attachments (ex. spoiler, roof, ect.) They can crash, UNLESS it is supported.
  • Remember, always mod smart, just because it looks good, does not mean you need it.
  • Remember, some car mods are universal, they most of the time will work on ANY vehicle. DO NOT FORGET THIS!

Have you ever modded a vehicle, then go ingame and the mod looks great! But when you get in the car you notice the name is still Rockstar's Original car name? It Looks Crappy!
Well here is a fix!

Download the GXT editor.
Open it and find "open" click there and go to your GTA:SA Directory.
Find the folder named text.
Open it and choose a language.
Write the name of the vehicle.
(The code name of the vehicle must be correctly typed otherwise won’t work Example: raindnc)
At the right side will appear the name of the vehicle and change it to the name u prefer.
Click on the entry name and save.
If u followed the steps correctly it will work.

Here is a list of cars that can be modded without worry! - Credits to Mastalol!
NOTE: Remember, Boats, Planes, and Bikes can be modded without worry!
