Title: [Senza] Adding local chat countdown

Hey, an idea had come across my mind a couple days ago, of implementing a countdown system for localchat-range players.

Current count down systems are within squads and groups. This will be very useful for street racing, CE's, and any activity that requires a countdown for friends whom aren't group/squad mates.

Now you might say that this is just laziness and anyone could count in localchat just like we do now. But no, counting in localchat is not convenient for those reasons:
1. There's a 2 second cooldown between every message, not accurate and takes too long.
2. Gives the counting-down player an advantage of expecting and knowing when to go (in races).

The system should work just like the "rolldice X" system, which will show localchat-ranged players a countdown above your head and in the chat. The command would be "countd X" and a countdown would appear in the chat and above your head.
PS: There should be a limit of the count down, I suggest 25. And players should be able to disable it through /settings

Example:
Show content

(LOCCOUNTD) [1]Pollux{99%}[Biker]: 3

The localchat message above player's head should appear as if they're saying a regular local message.

Criterias: Increase efficiency, increase entertainment, reduce inconvenience.

Not only they have this advantage, their latency also plays a role.

A local chat countdown would also be great for people trying to sync animations (dancing).

Could be of use but, what if someone decides to spam it? like a long countd. Maybe limit the amount of time you can count? like at max 5. Idk why some1 will need more than that. But the thing is, this won't be used that much I think. And here's why. In gang wars, doing movements, there's groupcountd. Same to squad, squadcountd. For races, you can use the flag animation, or tell one of your friend to count. If not, bind a key to localchat go. For CnR, you can also use the casual 333 222 111 GO manual countdown. And CEs happen every 45 minutes or so. And not every CE we need a countdown. But locrolldice wasn't used as much until the casino project started, so we can ignore the part of it being unused. But there will obviously remain some people at CEs or ARs that will troll countd to disrupt other's plans and whatnot. I like the idea, but I'm afraid of the misuse of the command. If you have a solution for that, please do tell.

There should obviously be a limit, could be set to 25. And players should be able to turn it off from /settings

You're right, sometimes we want to make race at the main dimension and there's obviously a way to make a countdown but you need to be in a Group/Squad and those people that will assist in the race should be in the group too in order to see the countdown, Positive.

That kind of limit would prevent it against misuse, and turning it off in settings obviously cant be the solution because it would mean that half of the players wouldnt even see your countdown, and at the same time it would mean that everyone is free to use that system to spam and staff would say "disable it in settings if it annoys you"

The idea is really good but it doesnt work if there is not a way to prevent it from being misused by dumb kids to flood the chats or send someone into death by causing chaos

The problem is, no matter what concept I think of, its complicated and still doesnt prevent dumbasses from just misusing it and ruining it for everyone else.


One REALLY complicated example to use it with a restriction is if cops could use a command like /offercountd which shows in the chatbox the following message
Countdown offered by ADM-Dimit#USNS, /countd to accept
And then if for exmaple 3 players or 5 players type that command (which means there are a few actual players who agree to start a countdown and not just a random kid), it triggers a localchat countdown, otherwise the countdown offer expires after 15 seconds without enough votes. Then there could be a 1 minute cooldown before being able to start another countdown.
But then again, a small group of friends can trigger this countdown just to troll others, either just to get attention with the feature, or to keep the countdown occupied by "wasting it" and keeping it blocked with the cooldown

Its a helpful idea for letting known and well experienced players lead us and planning to rush without spamming in the localchat, but dimit has a point here, it could be misused by some unknown cops and somehow leading us to death, We must in our location get an offer in the localchat with the name of the guy, and at least get 4-5 votes so an actual countdown starts to count in our screen, and to avoid those random cops that can spam the rush command if they got 2-3 negatives or downvotes he just gets cooldown for at least a min, i'm going positive  :tick:

That's would be helpful in races and CEs. When I wanted to host race activity with my group and others players who were not in my group I had problem with making countdown for them. It would be also great thing in CEs because we will be able to plan rush without chat spamming. But we need any solution to avoid spamming and giving fake info (CEs) by random players. That's why I will stay Neutral for now.

Adding the feuture will help to those that they organize events in open world and they don't own the CEM title. It would be extremely useful for races, cars how startups etc
It has to have some limitations tho, such us you can only use in once every the end of a certain period like every 30 seconds. It shall not appear in every single local player's screen like group countdowns but like a message above the players head, without make the countdown getting visible in local chat room to avoid spam messages.
It's a good idea but needs some regulation to be perfect.

This idea is very useful for the players who race or duel as you said the player who count in local chat gets advantage, this always happen to me when I duel or race with my friends. POSITIVE

Well... Instead of showing it in local-chat which will spam a lot, I can make it show on your head for other players with a local chat message that shows that you've made a countdown., it will be notice-able though. Using dx features that can be easily done.

I've considered your and Dimit's ideas. I think yours should be implemented as it's easier to script.

There are many racers in Sf and nowadays with the events hosted by Efec this is a demand for us right now. My vote is obviously positive on this simple script.  :thonk: :tick:

Ohh man I love your idea..
Because I like to making a lot of events with my
Friends or with ally...when I have event with my group its okei I'm using /groupcountd but when its not with group mates I have to count down typing in local and give us a delay...
So this will release my hands...
I agree and I hope to see it ingame soon...

Adding such a script to the server is actually allowing spammer people to bypass localchat cooldown. In order to prevent people from spamming localchats especially in crowded areas (ARs, CEs, Protected Areas etc.) following conditions are what I suggest:

Well, I don't really feel what you want here. This can be spammed non-stop by many players inside CEs or ARs which will confuse many cops/crims and they won't know which countdown to listen to and rush when it's over. So I think it's pretty balanced and fair for PCs and CBs only to have the countdown ability. Since if everyone had it there will be a lot of trollers that won't stop executing the command. And I know that you made a "solution" for this which is adding a limit to the amount of times you use the command but let me tell you that trollers are more than one. It only requires 3 trollers to start a countdown that will confuse and troll everyone nearby.

Such a feature is already in the game.
A feature that applies to both Criminals and Cops.
I don't understand why such a plugin is needed when there is such a plugin even in groups. I don't support this idea as I don't like it. Good luck for other thoughts.

With this the commands in AR and CEs can be more usefull and understandable. I think it will also add some entertainment as said. My vote is positive :tick:

Why?
Would be useful for street races (for example 1v1) when there are only one player and it would be quite hard to get equal start when one of them is counting.
For others; it would be useful for ARs and CEs to make a rush.

Then just make it for locf friends and if anyone misused u can remove him from ur cb or whatever, and even making it appear above player's heads it's still annoying.

I agree. It will make alot of things easier, an example u stated is racing, another one is dancing, another one could be for duels (for people who don't want to /duel and want to experience the real dimensions), However there should be a limit for sure. :tick:
