If you're wondering where the "South Harmon Institute of Technology" came from click here to watch the trailer of an awesome film called "Accepted" which is where the S.H.I.T came from and also some of my motivation to actually make this script in the first place. Although some people have benefited from playing on CIT, mainly to do with their English being improved, it's safe to say that most players educations are affected negatively, as playing on CIT is more fun than studying. Although it's not my responsibility, I saw a way in which we can actually improve your education and potentially even get you interested in new subjects and potentially change the course of your life.

So for the past 2 days I have been working on a qualifications script for CIT where first of all you sign up to a course and then you learn some stuff by reading the course information. Then you take the exam, the questions and answers are in all random order to make cheating hard and the time you get to answer each question is based on how long it would take to read the question and the 3 answers you can pick from.

These qualifications will contribute towards the development of your character as each course will have a certain benefit like doing an action faster (like healing), making more money or unlocking a new ability (like lock picking, bomb defusal, criminal investigation, etc)

Ideas for courses are easy enough to think of, I can think of one for almost every job, to name a few: police exam, crime scene investigation, first aid, bomb creation, bomb defusal, lock picking, car jacking, farming methods and techniques, mining, drug production, money printing, the list is ENDLESS!

Currently though there is only 1 course, "First Aid Level 1" which is only 10 questions. Any developer (and Brian) have access to add more courses. But we need YOU, to come up with course information and exam questions!

I really loved this new update, I'll do some basic courses of Information Technology and send to you. I already have some exams that I did on my colleged, would nice.

Well, CIT is going at top, as we've seen a link on IRC, someone compared CIT with GTA 5 and even CIT is better than GTA5.

On other hand, we are getting benifits like English skills improved,Educations & Informations,typing speed etc. Well we don't know how to say thanks to you Arran, you are doing alot for us/community.

Its a place where we learn about Friendship,Teamwork,helping etc. Due to this server, we, from different countries, are playing together and are becoming friends. We Learned alot from this server. and yeah all the credit goes to you bro.

Thanks Alot bro, I hope everyone will learn something good from it. You're such a nice guy.

Well, I know the movie and all about S.H.I.T; Watched it like few months ago. Even though the execution of the movie was kinda shitty to me, but really.. The storyline was awesome, and how those college students created their own courses, was the next level of education. And it was a fun way to learn what they love.

And the fact that you make it that everyone able to submit their own course is also awesome.  ;D I'm looking forward to make my own about some things you mentioned in the first post.

Seeing this was certainly a pleasant surprise, along with all the positive responses.  Implemented with ingenuity, I trust it will further distinguish CIT.

I like the way you have integrated this learning into the medic job, and your plans to do the same for other RP jobs.  Might leveling-up include some testing with the cash bonus?  Or offer some continuing education for the L10's?

Knowledge is power!  Building mental connections is naturally stimulating.  We should all be teachers ; )  while keeping it fun.

Mulling this over, in terms of language acquisition, I suspect non-English speakers will use translators initially.  But the repetition of a few key phrases should help make the information "stick".  It will be interesting to see how this evolves... small doses of text in game are palatable, especially if there is a reward tied to it.

Very good idea, its a good way to learn a little bit more usefull stuff!

Got a suggestion though, I noticed that the age difference in CIT is pretty high. We have younger kids and some older people that play the game. Maybe some questions are to hard for the younger ones and are some questions to easy for the elder ones. So.. I know its a lot of work maybe but maybe you can make it that at the start it asks what Age catagorie you are.

some catogories:

(not sure if they are good :P)

so it would be a single asked question when you first open /courses. With this added we could make different courses that are more challenging to older people, because now smarter/older people can easily earn the money when the younger ones cant answer the questions well.

Well, I think the only trouble will be for people who don't know English well. Children who play CIT will benefit most as they'll be learning things they probably don't know. Also your mind remembers things better at a younger age so it might not be that hard for them to pass the simple exams.

Though there will certainly be progressive exams, notice how the exam is called "First Aid Level 1" which confirms that we intend to have a Level 2, etc. Some exams can be very hard like 50 questions and passing those would be a huge achievement for you and you will benefit well ingame too.

Thats the best addition, as I think it will lead to ppl learning something while having fun. I would love my brothers and myself to do this so we may become more efficient in paying too.

Great idea, I went in when I seen it on updates but when I scrolled down and read the info, it said ive passed the course at the bottom. I didnt answer any questions, so just assumed that its in development.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\MTA San Andreas 1.3\MTA

Open clientscript.log and tell me if you see any lines that are like this:

[2013-10-09 14:07:04] INFO: CITshit: 2

If you've never entered the course it should say "INFO: CITshit: nil" but clearly that's not the case if it says you've passed the course without even signing up.

I have 13 years old, I'm a "kid". When I joined CIT, my english levels were so poor... I joined a group who just talks english, I made my best and I putted effort on improving english skills. Now, I'm being benefited, I passed English  Signature 19/20 in my secondary. I still need to improve.

Now we have the chance of learn a bit about differents topics.

 I suggest to add a Course for the Hacking - Counter/Hacking. Example me; I don't know so much about computing. Adding that will improve the use of the Hacking.

I did the FIrst Aid exam and I really enjoyed, it's actually nice and I learned a lot, can't wait to see more exams added and I saw that you're planing to add a statistics exam, can't wait to do that.

Hacking other people is bad. Hacking and computing are different. + Maybe you should how to prevent DDoS or counter it.

Awesome script, perfectly made. Will help many players to learn more things about emergency danger. They will learn how to act on these situations and that script can help players that want to become medics in real life.

-_- I mean the hacking script for cops/crims in server, is not about hacking IRL, it will be like a computing course. You misunderstood my idea.

Seems like I would have to do even more studying after coming back from my inactivity lol.

It's a pretty good step, at least that's something that will benifit us IRL unlike what we are taught in schools.

The first attempt made me realize how much useless I could be if any one of my loved ones would be in such a position and gradually, when I started reading the stuff, I improved on the stuff. Honestly, one of the greatest additions ever.

I usually don't give a damn about what I do in games, online especially, but I can now actually claim that a video game, intended to originally have fun has actually educated me to the point where I can actually stand a chance at saving a life.

Yes, but it's only for "CIT" server not all MTA.

Just saying the first aid course is a little wrong. You have DABC which you have put as Danger, Airways, Breathing, Circulation.

It should be DRABC which stands for

Danger: Chack for danger to yourself and others (you were right there)

Response: Check if the patient is responding. (Use COWS to do this. Say to the patient, alternating ears with each sentence in case they are deaf in an ear or one blocked, Can you hear me? Open your eyes. Whats your name? Squeeze my hand.

Airways and Breathing: You got that all good

Compressions (some people call this circulation or CPR): Begin CPR (30 chest compressions then 2 rescue breaths). Also remember C as call an ambulance. So get someone to call an ambulance and do CPR until the ambulance arrives

I actually saw the movie, it was very motivational.

This movie is kinda old and I saw it when it first released,
Also this spoiler contains some well spoilers, it tells about most of the primary events of the movie, so better to watch it then read this comment, but if you really want to know and can't watch the movie then be my guest.

It is about a student never getting accepted anywhere. So he and his friend decided to fake it by creating a website and telling that you are "One click away from being accepted" he got the fake letter and his parents thought it was for real. Later his dad decided to drop him off at his first day, thats when he and his friend turned a spooky looking Asylum with dead bodies into South Harmon Institute of Technology. But later they found out that many people gone to their website and through they are accepted. Even through they got the money they knew that they couldn't run this place with so many students, then as the main character(sorry forgot his name) got up the stage he first told them who wasn't accepted in other place, all hands flew high in the air. Inspirational speech made the actor(I really forgot his name) give his own inspirational speech and telling them that S.H.I.T is their bright future. Later they got trouble because it was after all a fake school but again an inspirational speech(Why am I only getting this character and not any other in this movie?) convinced them to make it real. It teaches us to be cautious about our future and to educate ourselves before it is too late.
Note:I just gave some info about the movie, but if you really want to know all then watch it(be advised it is inappropriate for kids there are some teenage/adult contents)

I was actually waiting for this kind of a script, it is very educational and will help CIT players get some benefits either than their english or discipline. I hope in the future more kind of this appears in CIT. Really looking forward for trying this out.
