According to your logic, then remove the entire page as "you can go ingame and check out whatever you want". 

You completely ignored the fact that, at times, players may not be able to log in to the server in order to get what they need. The forum is accessible through other devices, using a phone to load the page and check whatever you need is basically the one and only remaining alternative.

You're right but "Timbery" is talking about another thing and It's in forum, due to life or job or anyone who's busy doing other stuff and couldn't go in-game won't be able to find the player due to him changing names etc so It's not a big deal also would be helpful for these who can't get in-game at that moment.

If this is related to groups, applications and what not, you can always message a friend who's ingame through different socialmedia-platforms when in doubt. Not to mention, that you can always check out a particular player later when you are by your device. Still pointless though!
