Since this is a discussion and we need to know whether it's possible or not, I'm going straight to the subject.
Well, I have faced this problem while being in a war with several groups at a time, where I wasn't able to identify which players I am supposed to kill and which I am not, so I was doing circles waiting to get attacked first.
Especially when a lot of groups get engaged in a very big war and they might not be in the same alliance so it will be very hard to identify who's ur enemy and who's ur friend from a small tag name that's hardly visible when they are running/jumping/and sometimes flying.
My solution:
My idea is to add a new command where you will type the group name, so every member of that group will be highlighted in red to you (Color can be changed in /settings)
The command can be /highlight <groupname>
Edit: Please make it work on players too, will be helpful to highlight players/helpers: Highlight <playername> to highlight a specific player.
I'm going to confirm with Nuko and edit this post if such thing is possible to develop. Confirmed as possible to develop.

This is not related to what the player is suggesting, please read and understand what is being suggeated.

Re-read the topic I don't think u got the idea.
The idea here is to make it easier with identifying your enemy, In my case yesterday we had 0 groups in our alliance, but we had some friendly groups which were helping, and it was pretty much impossible for me to know who I am against.
By highlighting I mean adding a layer of neon surrounding the enemy's ped.

Good idea ,good to add also fights will be more organized essentially in the big wars they are cracked of gangsters so you can't see your friends well im supporting this great idea also it doesn't harm anything in the gameplay Positive.

Could there be a command where you can highlight a exact player as some players come to help at wars and they dont have groups :tick:

Since some groups can work together especially in turfing, I find this a nice idea. During turfing sessions or even other situations, many groups may work together during huge fights. The addition of this can help getting rid of some confusion. I used to turf in the past and I can remember causing friendly damage to allied players and groups due to the not being in my group or alliance, all by accident. It is worth it and I guess it's not really hard to add. :tick:

I faced the problem too when I was playing as a gangster ain't gonna lie such a great idea I'm obviously up voting this as it's going to help alot on the gang wars :tick:

I pretty sure all of us has faced this problem and we all got confused in the mid of war because of this, so that would be a good solution I'm going positive :tick:

Yeah I find it okay to just add a layer of neon around the ped, I thought that it's about marking the player in the map as well so my bad sorry. My vote is Positive. :tick:

Very good idea, when I play wars I always kill friends by mistake, so it's a great idea to avoid killing friends, and focus on enemies positive

This seems like a very good idea. When there is a big gangster war it can be very chaotic and you might end up shooting those whom you are allied to. Much better if they can be highlghted and be easily distinguished. I don't see what the problem with this suggestion assuming it is technically fessible.

Both these suggestions are kinda overlapping, can we come to a common ground and add a single panel with two tabs "PLAYERS" & "GROUPS" which will show a list of players similar to /gojob and it will have 2 buttons- "TOGGLE PINNING" (group/player) and "MANAGE COLOUR". Ones that are already pinned will be shown with a different color in the same panel (similar to F10 > Rooms )

Later on we might as well have a 3rd tab called "SQUADS" and let squads have this type of feature, if only the need arises.

Considering the panel u are showing, afaik admins hate adding new panels and they prefer keeping it to simple commands.
After all it's up to the developer to make whatever he/she wants.

Is your reasoning that the highlight would offer better visibility?

Neither of you have read anything clearly, the point of this is to allow better visibility and a better way of identifying your enemy.
Which a lot of players do struggle with in wars, reason being this being fully supported by the community.

Man I've read your suggestion and understand it perfectly.
My point is that with green nametags + LSD you get great visibility on your alliance members. So why not extend that feature to other groups besides your alliance, instead of creating a whole new feature?

This idea is possible to make in MTA, have already made something similar to that, outline objects using shader.
I have used and make some edits on this example

You can find Ped shell down below and using shader is going to be easier than using dxDrawLine3D cause it requires a lot of mathematics.

I faced the same issue before and still facing it in big gang wars or even in a small one where I used to kill players that are helping us during the war, highlighting them just like how we highlight our members would indeed solve the issue, I am supporting this. :tick:

That would be a fantastic answer because I am fairly certain that we have all encountered this issue and were perplexed in the middle of a conflict as a result. :tick:
