Blista Compact designing problem, might be .dff?
« on: 08 08, 2019, 10:48:30 pm »
Hello Guys,
I have already designed more than 20 shaders but I don't consider myself as a designer so I need your help.
I decided to make a shader for a car (blista compact) that doesn't have paintjob on it that means there is no further files like for elegy (elegy1 paintjob, elegy2 paintjob, elegy3 paintjob, etc).
However, I managed to download this 'mod': https://www.gtaall.com/gta-san-andreas/cars/89037-grottti-blistac-atomic.html
it contains a .txd and a .dff, I downloaded this one to replace its txd with mine so I can make a paintjob on it.
It was pretty successful until I tested it in-game. I realised the front and the rear bumper has not been designed for some reason.
Here are some pictures of the problem:

I think there is something wrong with .dff  :thonk: however, I don't know how could I solve it. I want to design those missing parts too. Is there a way I can make a paintjob on default .dff? If so, how? Further answer would be appreciated. Really.  :)  :)  :)

I suggest you only installing mods with a modified TXD file only and default dff file.
That's why I downloaded one with .dff
The default .dff doesn't contain designable paintjob.

might dff has problem
Do you know what could be the solution for it? I want it fully designable, however, on the deftault .dff since If I want to use it as a car shader, I need to design it on the default .dff

Probably download the default dff file?

I still have the backup, however, as I've stated above,
The default .dff doesn't contain designable paintjob.

Well, I tried with and without the default .dff
If I keep the default one, nothing happens, it cannot detect the car shader on it.
If I make it on the downloaded one, the problem still occurs, however, the plates got removed which was expected.

At least, I am satisfied it can be solved somehow as it did the trick for you.
I'd be really grateful if you could tell me whether it contained further steps.

Certain mod files for vehicles have separate DFFs and TXDs, but they work in unison to make the model ingame.

You know how Brian says we cant edit certain parts of a skin ingame and those parts are typically left alone? Such as the female skins where there is minimal customization allowed to their face (take skin id 234 for example)? It's because their TXD contains multiple files to cover the entirety of the DFF file.

Your mod may contain more than one file within the TXD file. I'm pretty sure that deleting files from the TXD may not really solve your issue, and that your issue may have some other file within the TXD it depends on.

(It's either this or the bumper is a secondary, tertiary, or quadriary color and you're not setting it to the same color and it's just making the car look that way.)

Blista compact cannot be designed properly. It requires a repeptitive design, this topic can be locked. Thank you for the help, guys, appreciated!
